How does Pearl White Sensitivity Formula work to control sensitivity?
Potassium nitrate is clinically proven to effectively treat dental hypersensitivity by calming the nerves of the tooth and preventing the transmission of painful stimuli.
-
How does Pearl White toothpaste really whiten your teeth?
Unlike common over-the-counter whitening toothpastes that rely on abrasives to remove only tooth surface debris, Beyond Pearl White Toothpaste contains ingredients that are designed to treat the cause of stains and effectively reduce re-staining. Calcium peroxide, an important ingredient in the Pearl White formula, helps dissolve the excess proteins that saliva deposits on the teeth that can cause enamel discoloration. Hydroxyapatite increases the whitening effect, while strengthening enamel to prevent cavities.
-
Why does the whitening toothpaste have to go on a dry toothbrush?
The active ingredients in Beyond Pearl White Toothpaste work best when undiluted. For best results, we recommend brushing with a dry toothbrush. Rinse mouth thoroughly after brushing, and rinse toothbrush with tap water after brushing to remove any remaining toothpaste and debris.
-
What is the recommended time used for brushing?
We recommend brushing with Pearl White Whitening Toothpaste thoroughly for two minutes, with a quality soft-bristled brush. The ADA recommends brushing twice daily, replacing the brush every 3 to 4 months.
-
Can I eat right after I finish brushing?
Yes. The Pearl White formula is designed to whiten teeth, maintain whitening results from professional whitening treatment received at the dental office or from other peroxide-based bleaching products, and to prevent re-staining.
-
Are there any stains that won’t come off my teeth?
Intrinsic stains, such as those caused by antibiotics, cannot be treated effectively with Pearl White alone. Such intrinsic stains can be treated with professional, in-office bleaching.
-
Calcium peroxide (CaO2) is a solid peroxide effective in dissolving excess proteins that saliva deposits on the teeth that can cause enamel discoloration. Calcium peroxide in the Pearl White formula dissolves to form hydrogen peroxide which then releases oxygen radicals that can further whiten the teeth.
-
Hydroxyapatite is a building block of dental enamel and bone, and key supplemental ingredient to the Pearl White Formula. As a special additive to toothpaste, hydroxyapatite has been shown to provide three major clinical advantages: efficacy in cavity prevention, treatment of periodontal disease, and tooth whitening. Hydroxyapatite not only polishes the surface to remove stains, but the chemical properties are proven in clinical studies to provide a whitening effect beyond the polishing.
