Designed to be worn for just one hour per day for fourteen days, the standard StayWhite treatment protocol ensures excellent results in even the most difficult cases. Following completion of the initial treatment protocol, BEYOND recommends a single one hour treatment per month for maintenance of the whitening results.
BEYOND™ StayWhite Professional Tray Whitening kits and BEYOND™ StayWhite refills contain a proprietary 6% hydrogen peroxide gel, formulated to rapidly oxidize stains deep inside the enamel without sensitivity. BEYOND’s 6% H2O2 formula has been clinically proven enamel safe by the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center.
Each BEYOND™ StayWhite Professional Tray Whitening kits contains:
6 x 2.6mL syringes of 6% H2O2 whitening gel
2 x .040 EVA sheets impression material
1 x Whitening tray storage case
1 x zippered carrying case with mirror
1 x multilingual instruction manual
Each BEYOND™ StayWhite Refill kit contains 4 x 2.6mL syringes of 6% H2O2 whitening gel.
Available in Orange, Vanilla, and Mint. Variety cases are available upon request.
Treatment Procedure
1. Floss and brush your teeth gently with a fluoride toothpaste (such as BEYOND™ Pearl White™ Toothpaste) making sure not to irritate the gums. Rinse your mouth with warm water.
2. Place a drop of whitening gel into the tooth compartments for your teeth that can be seen when you smile in both the top and bottom trays (usually 8-10 teeth per tray). Each syringe has three treatment doses. Use up to one dose to fill both trays.
3. Fit the trays over your top and bottom teeth snugly.
4. Remove excess gel with a cotton bud or a dry toothbrush. When inserting the trays, take care to avoid pushing the gel up over the edge of the tray.
5. Wear the trays for one hour. Do not wear the whitening trays overnight.
6. At the end of the hour, remove the trays. Rinse your mouth and brush excess gel off of your teeth. Rinse the trays with cold water. If necessary, use a toothbrush to remove any leftover gel. Place trays in the protective case and store in a cool, dry place.
For Best Results
The recommended initial treatment schedule is to use BEYOND™ StayWhite on fourteen consecutive days for one hour per day. Please consult with your dentist to determine if an alternative or additional treatment schedule is necessary for your individual situation.
Minimize consumption of colored food and drinks while using BEYOND™ StayWhite. Try to limit use of tobacco products. Maintain good oral hygiene during the treatment.
Special Notes
If the whitening gel comes into contact with the gums during the treatment, the pink tissue may turn white during the treatment. This will fade in a few hours following the treatment and is not cause for concern.
If you have severe stains caused by tetracycline, fluoride, or another factor, discuss your best options for whitening these stains with your dentist. BEYOND™ StayWhite is effective on whitening these types of stains; however, additional treatment cycles and adaptations may be necessary to achieve best results.
It is recommended that you consult with your dental professional before beginning any new treatment.
Do not use if syringes are leaking.
Keep out of reach of children. Not suitable for pregnant or lactating women or children under sixteen years of age.Terminate the whitening procedure if any patient reports severe tooth sensitivity and remove all whitening gel before treating with fluoride.
Within the twenty-four hours after the procedure, patients should avoid colored food and drinks. Use of tobacco products should be limited.

What is the treatment protocol when prescribing the StayWhite System?
The StayWhite system is designed to whiten teeth in one hour per day, for up to 14 days. There is enough gel material for additional treatments, but is generally unnecessary to reach optimal results, and remaining gel can be used for maintenance. If further whitening is required, patient should pause treatment for one week, and resume the once-daily, one-hour applications until results are achieved to prevent unwanted sensitivity.
-
What is the strength of the Whitening gel?
StayWhite Tray Whitening Kits contain six syringes of 6% hydrogen peroxide whitening gel. Hydrogen peroxide in its simpler form whitens much quicker than the equivalent strength in a carbamide peroxide compound (approximately 18%). The quicker release of oxygen with purer form hydrogen peroxide allows for faster, more comfortable whitening. BEYOND recommends gingival barrier protection for any gel strength above 6% hydrogen peroxide (or equivalent in carbamide peroxide compound) to prevent unwanted gingival irritation and sensitivity.
-
What is the difference between hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide?
While the two are very closely related, hydrogen peroxide is “pure” peroxide. During use, it breaks down into water and oxygen while penetrating through the tooth enamel and breaking apart the longer carbon chain molecules that cause visible stains in the teeth. This oxidizing process is what causes the “whitening” effect.
Carbamide peroxide, sometimes called urea peroxide, is hydrogen peroxide dissolved in urea crystals. As a result of the combination of hydrogen peroxide and urea, it is less powerful, weight by weight, than "pure" hydrogen peroxide. Although carbamide peroxide still has hydrogen peroxide as the active ingredient, it has to undergo one more step before it can whiten. This extra step means that carbamide peroxide will act more slowly and will need to be on the teeth for longer.
Hydrogen peroxide in its purer form is highly reactive and is effective for only about 30-60 minutes once it has been released from its suspended phase. By adding urea, it becomes more stable and can be stored for longer periods. However, it only releases about 50% of its active ingredient in the first two hours. The rest is released over the next 4 to 6 hours
In general, hydrogen peroxide products are used for short daytime use and carbamide peroxide is used for longer, overnight periods. In order to provide the most rapid and effective whitening treatment, all BEYOND™ whitening gels contain hydrogen peroxide as the active ingredient. This keeps the treatment time very short, and ensures comfortable, white results
-
Does the treatment cause sensitivity?
Post-treatment sensitivity is caused by a number of factors, including treatment time, strength of the whitening material, and existing tooth condition of the patient. The most common cause of home whitening is over-use of the materials. Following the protocol prevents sensitivity in most cases.
NOTE: Caution patients not to over-use whitening trays. Uninterrupted daily whitening beyond the 14-day recommended protocol can cause unwanted sensitivity.
-
Can I buy tray whitening materials and refills separately?
Yes. StayWhite Tray Whitening Kits contain 6% whitening gel, and EVA .040 impression tray material, in addition to the tray storage case, and travel case. StayWhite refill kits are available in three flavors (Vanilla, Mint, and Orange), and the impression tray materials are also available separately.
-
What is the most popular flavor?
Mint is by far the most popular, though we highly recommend the vanilla flavor!
