Aufhellung von beiden Zahnbögen

1. Bitten Sie den Patienten Platz zu nehmen und senken Sie den Behandlungsstuhl in einem 40º-Winkel.

2. Setzen Sie dem Patienten die Schutzbrille auf.

3. Polieren und reinigen Sie die Zähne vor der Behandlung mithilfe des Sandpräparates. Fügen Sie diesem je nach Bedarf Wasser zu.

4. Bitten Sie den Patienten den Mund zu spülen.

5. Tragen Sie etwas von dem Lippenbalsam auf und führen Sie den BEYOND FlexiBlue Mundretraktor mit nach.

6. Befestigten Sie die Gesichtsgaze um den Mundretraktor und klappen Sie die oberen Enden nach unten.

7. Führen Sie auf jeder Seite des bukalen Frenums Watterollen ein.

8. Trocken Sie mithilfe von Druckluft Zähne und Zahnfleisch (Gingiva). Verteilen Sie eine 2-3 mm dicke Schicht des BEYOND BlueSeal  Kofferdams entlang des Zahnfleischrandes.

9. Verteilen Sie weiteres Lippenbalsam auf Innen – und Außenseiten der oberen und unteren Lippen.

10. Entnehmen Sie der Rückseite des BEYOND Polus Power Whitening Systems die LED Polymerisationslampe und härten Sie den Kofferdam mit einem Abstand von 0.5 – 1 cm aus. Dabei sollte auf eine stetige Bewegung für ca. 20-30 s entlang des geschützten Zahnfleischrandes geachtet werden (ca. 2-3 s pro Zahn). Vergewissern Sie sich anschließend, dass der Kofferdamm vollständig ausgehärtet ist. Vermeiden Sie eine unnötig lange Behandlung des Kofferdammes zur Aushärtung.

11. Entnehmen Sie die Doppelkammerspritze der Verpackung und setzen Sie einen Mischaufsatz auf.

12. Tragen Sie eine 2-3 mm dicke Schicht der weiterentwickelten BEYOND Bleachingformel auf die trockene Zahnoberfläche auf.

13. Positionieren Sie den BEYOND Whitening Accelerator im 90° Winkel zum Mund des Patienten, so dass der Lampenkopf den zu behandelnden Zähnen so nah wie möglich ist.

14.Sobald der Lampenkopf ausgerichtet ist, betätigen Sie die START/STOP Taste, um den ersten Zyklus von zehn Minuten zu beginnen.

15. Weisen Sie den Patienten darauf hin, dass es unbedenklich ist den sich bildenden Speichel zu schlucken.

16. Händigen Sie dem Patienten die Fernbedienung des Gerätes aus. Weisen Sie ihn darauf hin, dass die Behandlung jederzeit mithilfe der PAUSE u. RESUME Tasten unterbrochen werden kann. Mithilfe der enthaltenen CALL Taste kann der behandelnde Arzt jederzeit gerufen werden, sollte dieser unerwartet den Raum verlassen müssen.

17. Um dem Patienten ein höchstmögliches Wohlbefinden zu vermitteln, empfehlen wir Musik oder andere Unterhaltungsmedien während der Behandlung einzuschalten.

18. Nach Abschluss des ersten ten-Minütigen Zykluses schaltet das Gerät automatisch ab. Jetzt kann das Bleachinggel einfach abgesaugt werden. Bitte spülen Sie NICHT mit Wasser. Wiederholen Sie die Schritte 13-15 zwei weitere Male, sodass insgesamt drei Zyklen à zehn Minuten durchgeführt werden.

19. Nach Ablauf des letzten Zykluses, kann das Bleachinggel abgesaugt, sowie Kofferdamm, Gesichtsgaze, Mundretraktor und Schutzbrille entfernt werden.

1. How is Polus different from the original BEYOND Whitening Accelerator?

   Like the original BEYOND Whitening Accelerator, the Polus system uses a 150 watt Halogen light source and BEYOND’s unique fiber optic bridge to bring filtered, intense cool light to the face of the light head. The fiber optic unit in the Polus system increases the total fibers to 15,000 fibers, ensuring the light is as intense as possible, while remaining cool at output. The Polus Lightbridge also employs 18 High-intensity LEDs in two arches at the face of the unit to further increase intensity and broaden the output spectrum. The result is the most powerful light output to date, with no UV exposure, and no uncomfortable heat to ensure excellent, uniform results with every patient, while maintaining a quick, comfortable treatment.

2. Does Polus cause post-treatment sensitivity?

   Post-treatment sensitivity is caused by a number of factors, including treatment time (time gel is on the teethand time of light acceleration applied), strength of the whitening gel, heat generated by the whitening system, and existing tooth condition of the patient. The most common cause of chair side whitening sensitivity is enamel dehydration during the whitening process, which may increase with the use of some whitening systems. With BEYOND power whitening, the treatment time is reduced to just three 10-minute cycles, unlike other systems that apply the gel alone or gel and light together for one hour or more. All BEYOND power whitening systems filter the light output to remove all UV exposure and to produce cool light output, thus reducing heat exposure to the teeth, and limiting dehydration. As a result, dentists using a BEYOND power whitening system generally do not experience the sensitivity issues that plague other systems.

3. How does Power whitening work to reduce treatment time?

   Power whitening is effective in decreasing the stability of the hydrogen peroxide contained in the whitening gel, forcing the release of oxygen molecules. All BEYOND power whitening gels are formulated in two parts: hydrogen peroxide gel, and light-activated catalyst gel. The two are mixed when dispensed through the static mixing tips included with the dual-barrel syringes.

   When the intense light from the whitening accelerator is applied to the gel on the surface of the teeth, the light-activated catalyst material in the gel formula is excited and the breakdown of the hydrogen peroxide is accelerated.

4. Can the gel be used without a whitening lamp?

   Yes. The Beyond whitening gel is formulated to break down more rapidly when exposed to light, and to remain stable while contained in the dual-barrel syringes. When mixed while being dispensed and applied to the teeth, the gel begins to break down and will whiten the teeth without the application of light exposure, but will do so more slowly. Whitening with gel alone should be extended to three 15-minute cycles, and may require more than one treatment for best results. For consistent, strong results in a single in-office visit, we recommend use of the gel combined with light acceleration.

5. Is the gingival barrier necessary when performing the treatment?

   Yes, the gingival barrier must be used with the BEYOND whitening gel to protect tissues from contact with the whitening gel. The BEYOND BlueSeal Gingival Protection Gel is a light-cured resin-based product that is applied to dry gingiva prior to application of the whitening gel to the teeth. The BlueSeal material can be light-cured with the curing light included in the Polus system.

6. Can dental hygienists perform a teeth bleaching/whitening procedure?

   Yes. In the US and most European countries the removal of stains from the surface of human teeth, including bleaching treatments, falls within the scope of practice of a registered dental hygienist. Regulations vary by state and country.

7. Am I locked into the system? Are there chips or contracts?

   No. The BEYOND Polus accelerator is not locked in any way, and you’re welcome to adapt the treatment times as you like, use the system freely with your staff, or to test other gels with the system. (But we’re sure you’ll be happier with BEYOND gels, and our cost-per-patient!)
